The organisation was founded in 1976 by Bhagwat Prasad Mittal. A highly distinguished alumni and a capable engineer of the Banaras Hindu University, he has to his credit many pioneering developments that took place in India, including the development of the first self-priming construction pumps for the famous Bhakra Nangal Dam. Mr. Mittal had a vision to always develop innovative products for the country, be it engineering equipment, automotive components, or security products.
Some of his pioneering efforts include development and manufacturing of:
In the 80’s, BMG diversified into the conversion industry specialising in custom-slitting of delicate and narrow webs of films, foils and laminates. Mr Mittal started to develop Security Thread for the Indian Banknotes as an import-substitute. The efforts finally bore fruit in 1991, when against a global tender we were awarded our largest order for supply of 5,000 kgs. of security thread. With our focus on innovation, in the mid 90's we developed the Demetalised UV Fluorescent Security Thread, again a pioneering development by BMG.
Surging ahead, in 2005, the company joined hands with Papierfabrik Louisenthal - a global leader in the Banknote industry and established a greenfield facility for the manufacture of machine readable security threads. With a firm technical backing of a globally acclaimed leader, BMG is poised to achieve many milestones.
The second generation entrepreneur, Anshu Mittal joined BMG International in 1987 and is presently steering its entire operations. He received extensive industrial entrepreneurial guidance and training from his father and is a graduate of the Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi.
